How it works

Every enquiry follows the same five beats.

There is one path in, one review standard, one accountable Founder. No hidden funnels, no auto-accepted work, no evidence uploaded through the public site.

Three gates. No surprises.

Triage. Gate One read. Gate Two scoped work. Each gate has a defined output and a stopping point — you decide whether to go further.

The five-beat story of an ORVIA enquiry

01 · Why you're here

Something doesn't feel right

You've spotted a gap between what's being said and what's happening — for a person, a service, or a case.

02 · What we do

Independent human oversight

We look at the whole picture and put a named human being in front of the evidence.

03 · How we help

Evidence-led findings

Written scope, fixed fee, timescale, and every claim traceable to a source you can check.

04 · What happens next

Gate One before we accept

A named reviewer signs the enquiry off — or redirects it honestly — within three working days.

05 · Start

One conversation. No pressure.

Send an enquiry or book a scoping call. Nothing is committed on either side until Gate One clears.

The ORVIA enquiry journey Five ordered beats: Why you are here, What we do, How we help, What happens next, Start. Each beat feeds into the next with a directional arrow. 01 · WHY YOU'RE HERE Something doesn't feel right You've noticed a gap between what's said and what's happening. 02 · WHAT WE DO Independent human oversight We look at the whole picture, connect what others miss. 03 · HOW WE HELP Evidence-led findings you can use Written scope, clear fee, timescale & traceable sources. 04 · WHAT HAPPENS NEXT Gate One review before we accept A human checks fit, safety and conflict within 3 working days. 05 · START Send an enquiry or book a scoping call One conversation. Every enquiry follows the same five beats. No one is charged or committed before Gate One clears the request as safe, in-scope and free of conflict.

Gate One — the entry standard

Before ORVIA accepts any piece of work, five human checks are made. Nothing about a case advances until all five have a documented answer signed by a named person.

Gate One — human intake and suitability Enquiry arrives; five parallel human checks are run; five outcomes are possible. GATE ONE · HUMAN INTAKE AND SUITABILITY Enquiry received Website · phone · email · referral CHECK 1 Immediate danger If life or safety is at risk, the enquirer is signposted to 999 or statutory services. CHECK 2 Conflict of interest Any prior relationship with parties, employers, or authorities involved. CHECK 3 Scope fit Does this match what ORVIA can honestly do with the evidence available? CHECK 4 Legal boundary We don't act as legal representative, clinician or statutory authority. CHECK 5 Human capacity Is a suitable reviewer available within the timescale needed? POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF GATE ONE Passed Scoping call is booked. Written scope and fee issued before any substantive work starts. More info needed One clarifying question is asked. No pressure, no auto-progression. Redirect Someone else is the right route (LADO, solicitor, regulator). We say so, plainly. Escalate to Founder Any borderline case is seen by John McGill before an outcome is given. Declined With a written reason. No fee is invoiced. You keep every piece of information you shared. Gate One is a human decision, not an algorithm. A named person signs every outcome.
Gate One is the entry standard. The five checks run in parallel and finish within three working days. Nothing about a case advances before all five have a documented answer.

Where enquiries route after Gate One

Not every enquiry becomes an ORVIA engagement — and it is not meant to. Some enquiries belong with a LADO, a solicitor, a regulator or a statutory service. Saying so honestly is part of the job.

Where enquiries route after Gate One (illustrative) An illustrative flow showing that not all enquiries become engagements; some are redirected, and none are auto-accepted. HOW ENQUIRIES ROUTE AFTER GATE ONE · ILLUSTRATIVE 100 enquiries received in a period Scoping conversation Passed Gate One · around 55 Redirected to right route LADO · solicitor · regulator · around 25 More information needed Held open · around 12 Declined with written reason Around 8 Illustrative shape only — not a performance claim. Actual numbers are published once the workflow has run for a full quarter.
Not every enquiry becomes an engagement. Some enquiries are honestly better served by a solicitor, LADO or regulator. Saying so is part of the job.

Gate Two — controlled onboarding

Once a scope is accepted and the fee is received, six onboarding checks run before any evidence is examined. The client is told, in writing, when each check is complete.

Gate Two — controlled onboarding After the client accepts the scope and pays, six onboarding checks must all clear before work begins. GATE TWO · CONTROLLED ONBOARDING Client accepted the scope. Fee received. Signed engagement letter on file. Now: six onboarding checks. Work cannot start until each is signed off. 1 Identity verified All named parties confirmed in writing. No engagement runs on assumed identity. 2 SharePoint workspace A private, access-controlled space is created. All evidence lives here — never on Monday. 3 Data-protection notice Written notice issued. Consent recorded. Retention period stated at the outset. 4 Reviewer assigned Named human reviewer, matched to the case. Reviewer signs a personal conflict statement. 5 Evidence checklist Exact list of what we need — and don't need. Nothing is uploaded through the public site. 6 Founder sign-off Every engagement is opened with a named Founder decision. Traceable and time-stamped.
Gate Two happens after money changes hands and before evidence is examined. The six checks protect both the client and ORVIA from starting work on shaky ground.

The ORVIA Method

Every ORVIA review, at any scale, applies the same five stages — Observation, Reflection, Visibility, Insight, Accountability.

The ORVIA Method — Observation, Reflection, Visibility, Insight, Accountability Five sequential stages of the ORVIA methodology; each has a purpose, an input and an output. THE ORVIA METHOD Observation · Reflection · Visibility · Insight · Accountability O Observation Read the evidence exactly as it stands. No interpretation added at this stage. OUTPUT A neutral, dated record of what the evidence actually shows. R Reflection Sit with contradictions before naming them. Human judgement, not pattern matching. OUTPUT Working notes that surface the gaps between what's claimed and what's shown. V Visibility Make findings legible to the people who need to act on them. OUTPUT Plain-English summary with footnoted source references. I Insight Say what the pattern likely means for the person at the centre. OUTPUT Findings, risks and options, not a verdict or a diagnosis. A Accountability Every decision traceable to a named person. Every claim traceable to a source. OUTPUT Signed report you can put in front of a solicitor, regulator or panel.
The ORVIA Method is deliberately slow at the top and firm at the bottom. Observation and Reflection prevent premature conclusions; Insight and Accountability make the report usable in real settings.

Six points where the Founder personally decides

ORVIA does not hide behind AI or process. Six explicit decision points sit with a named human being.

ORVIA doesn't hide behind AI or process. Six named decision points sit with a human being — a person the client and any regulator can identify by name.

Governance from the person outward

Every ORVIA governance layer answers the same question — what is the likely effect of this decision on the person at the centre?

ORVIA governance layers Four concentric layers of governance from the person at the centre outward to independent scrutiny. GOVERNANCE · FROM THE PERSON OUTWARD THE PERSON Reviewer Founder decision Independent scrutiny panel READ FROM INSIDE OUT The person is at the centre. A named reviewer is closest to them. The Founder signs off decisions. An independent panel reviews borderline cases and complaints. NEVER MOVES The person stays at the centre of every decision, at every layer.
Every layer of ORVIA governance answers the same question: what is the likely effect of this decision on the person at the centre?

Where different kinds of information live

ORVIA keeps the story, the workflow and the evidence in three different homes on purpose. The public site tells the story; the pipeline board tracks the workflow status only; SharePoint holds any evidence you choose to share.
