VETERAN-FOUNDED · ARMED FORCES FRIENDLY

Your service experience still has value.

ORVIA was founded by a veteran. We know that leaving service can mean translating years of responsibility, judgement and leadership into civilian language that does not always recognise what you can actually do.

We want to turn that experience into meaningful civilian practice.

OUR COMMITMENT

Support should be demonstrated, not just displayed.

ORVIA's Armed Forces commitment is backed by official records. Our Covenant was formally registered in July 2026 and Defence Relationship Management confirmed our Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award in September 2026. The original confirmation, certificate, artwork and brand terms are held in ORVIA's controlled trust evidence library.

Working toward Silver and Gold

Our ambition is to earn progression through sustained, demonstrable support for the Armed Forces community — not by treating recognition as a badge-collecting exercise.

Verified today: Armed Forces Covenant signatory · ERS Bronze Award holder · veteran-founded · Trust a Veteran listed. Next: work toward Silver and Gold through sustained action.

WHAT SERVICE CAN BRING

We recruit for judgement, integrity and capability — not polished civilian language.

Veterans can bring skills that map naturally into assurance, evidence, operations and practitioner work when they are recognised properly.

Calm under pressureWork methodically when information is incomplete or changing.
Operational awarenessUnderstand people, resources, risks and dependencies in context.
AccountabilityOwn decisions, actions and handovers.
Evidence disciplineSeparate what is known, reported, inferred and still uncertain.
TeamworkWork across roles, ranks, organisations and changing circumstances.
AdaptabilityChange position when the evidence changes.
LeadershipTake responsibility without needing a particular civilian job title.
Human judgementKeep people, context and consequences in view.

HOW WE RECRUIT

Everybody gets a fair shot.

An open door is not an easy door.

ORVIA does not want a recruitment process that rewards only polished interview answers or the ability to translate a military career into corporate language. We want to see how somebody actually thinks, responds to challenge and handles responsibility.

THE ORVIA PRACTITIONER PATHWAY

Layered assessment. Training. Supervised practice. Earned authority.

No single interview decides whether somebody is ready to practise. The pathway is designed to understand judgement, evidence use, resilience and how a person works when the answer is not obvious.

01

Register interest

Tell us about your service, work, life experience and the kind of practitioner work that interests you. A conventional CV can help, but it is not the only evidence we consider.

02

Initial human conversation

A practical conversation about motivation, transferable experience, expectations and the realities of the work.

03

Human reasoning assessment — no AI

Work through an ambiguous safeguarding, operational or evidence scenario. We look at judgement, proportionality, uncertainty, evidence use and whether you jump to conclusions.

04

Challenge & problem-solving stage

A structured exercise, tabletop, puzzle or evolving scenario tests adaptability, collaboration, missing-information awareness and willingness to revise a position.

05

AI interaction assessment

Only after the human-only stages. We assess whether you use AI as assistance rather than authority, verify output, challenge suggestions and retain independent judgement.

06

Human suitability review

A senior human conversation considers values, motivation, resilience, conduct, emotional suitability and fit with ORVIA's human-first principles. AI does not hire or reject practitioners.

07

Identity, vetting & safer recruitment

Appropriate checks are completed for the work and level of access involved.

08

Training & supervised practice

ORVIA training, observed work and supervised assignments build competence before wider authority is granted.

09

Competency sign-off

Practice authority is earned through demonstrated competence, not simply because somebody has joined the organisation.

10

Practitioner authority & case allocation

Once signed off, work is allocated within the practitioner's verified competence and authority.

WHERE VETERANS MAY FIT

More than one route into ORVIA.

The right route depends on your experience, training, interests and demonstrated competence.

FROM SERVICE TO PRACTICE

Your past experience matters. Your authority here is still earned.

Military experience can be highly relevant, but it does not replace safeguarding, professional, evidence or role-specific competence. ORVIA's responsibility is to recognise transferable capability while still training, supervising and verifying the work that follows.

JOIN ORVIA

Do not worry about translating everything into corporate language first.

Tell us what you did, what responsibility you carried, what you learned and where you want to go next. We can start from there.
